To me, Hip-Hop is a culture of placing yourself in a box. If you aren’t walking in step with a particular faction, prepare for raised eyebrows and offhanded gestures. This is particularly prevalent in todays culture where you are identified by your Last FM playlist.
With that said, some artists are incorrectly categorized due to their affiliation with other boxes. Example: Drake.
